My 3D journey began in July of 2016, when I downloaded Source Filmmaker the night before I left with my family to go on a road trip for the 4th of July. I was inspired by, you guessed it, Five Nights at Freddy's fan animations across the internet. I loved them so much, and I wanted to give it a shot myself.
After downloading it, I didn't have time to actually give it a shot, so we went on the trip and I was anticipating our return home so I could try it out. Once we returned home, that's exactly what I did! I have a vivid memory of me spawning in a Freddy model and moving his arm... but why was I interested in doing FNAF stuff?
I found out about Five Nights at Freddy's soon after it's release and I remember it vividly. I was playing my Xbox with my cousin when her older sister walked in my room, telling us to check out a game on her phone. She showed it to us, and that's when I saw it. The office, the cameras, the animatronics, and of course... the fan. I continued to get more into it via videos on YouTube and eventually playing it myself.
Back to 2016, I got hooked on learning the 3D process in SFM. I did it more and more every day and never stopped, falling more in love with the workflow of creating 3D art and animation based on one of my favorite franchises.
I joined the FNAF 3D community under the name TheLivingFredbearPlush and began posting my work. I met many people through this name that I am proud to still call my friends today. We would all make our own animations alongside each other, bonding over our love for 3D.
Eventually, I dropped that name and became Electric Kyrox around late 2016/early 2017. It got shortened to just Kyrox around late 2017/early 2018, and is what I consider my most memorable name from the past. These weren't my only aliases, but are the most important and notable ones.
In 2020, I dropped Kyrox, and began going by just Sam. In 2022, YouTube introduced handles similar to other social media platforms which is where I first used the name SamAnimatesss, the name I promote today, but my display names remain as just Sam.
In 2020, I began experimenting with art and animation in Blender 3D and continued to experiment with it for the next couple of years, while still using SFM as my main 3D software. In 2023, with the start of development for my main project "Trickywi's Painted Faces", I fully transitioned over to B3D, leaving SFM behind with my 2022 main project "THIS IS HALLOWEEN" being my final main project done in the software.
Ever since then, I have been honing my skill in B3D, finding a new visual style that I am so proud of! Currently, I specialize in 3D art & animation, but I have interest in and plan on learning further 3D workflows such as modeling and more in the future.
